Taja asked me to go ice skating with her to Zgornje Jezersko. I sure don’t want to spend free days at home. We drove up with her fast Beemer and came there pretty quickly. But you should’ve seen her dissapointed face when we realised that the ice is gone. Ofcourse the temperatures were really high under 1400m so the whole ice melted. I had another idea. “What if we just check the real ice?” i asked. So we hike up to the entry of Sinji slap, the waterfall that is visited by many ice climbers through a cold period in the winter. Davo Karničar also skied it back in the days which stays respected by all of us. At the bottom await scary avalanche ruins which make you think. It’s definitely not the place to mess around and definitely not the place to visit without any appropriate gear which we didn’t have. You have to work hard being stupid, you know ;). The zone doesn’t have as much snow as the Vogel and Julian Alps have, so the quality skiing is not possible at this very moment, but will be. Good day to have in this season’s diary.
