✙ THUMBS UP

It’s been 8 years since Matevž climbed this 2026 peak with his brother, and in the past 2 years or so we’ve been discussing about skiing the NE couloir the whole way.

The winter in Europe is getting soft on us and the temperatures are rising every day. Most of the terrain is baked and we have to adapt. No more backcountry jumps or pillow lines until the next fresh snow. But what would a sunny day be without skiing right?

Matevž Maček aka. the Cat and i drove up to a SLO-AUT border and climbed up the couloir that we wanted to ski for years now. And yes, the conditions were almost superb despite some ice at the very top and some crust and hardpack at the bottom and in the short mid part. Everything else was a fine, dry, windblown snow that makes you wanna ski fast for hours even tho your legs are burning already after 100-200m vertical. I don’t know how much vertical drop has this one, but Mitja took it on film for Untouched project, Katja made some photos and Maca and I had smiles back on our grimaces for the rest of the day.
